Anti-Swine Flu Suit Goes on Sale

by Rajashri on Oct 14 2009 9:20 PM

Haruyama Trading Co. from Japan has started selling an "anti-swine flu" suit, which is supposed to kill the H1N1 virus. The company said the suit is coated with titanium dioxide, which can break down the virus when exposed to ultraviolet light.

Spokesman Ryugo Yamamote revealed on Sky News that they had tried a dirt resistant fabric "but laboratory experiments proved that molecules of viruses were actually dissolved three hours after they adhered to the fabric".

The suit can also reduce odor from cigarette smoke, it is claimed. Some 300 menswear stores in Japan are retailing this suit for a hefty price of $650.
