Anorexic Teen Recovers Through Passion for Cooking and Publishes a Cookbook
A passion for cooking has helped a teen to recover from eating disorder. Nicola Davis, who was suffering from Anorexia for the past two years had an aversion to eating but still had a passion for cooking.
Though Nicola did not eat anything, she kept on cooking lots and lots of recipes. At one stage she realized that she was wasting all these goodies and began to enjoy her own recipes.

"I had been baking all the time and was coming up with loads of recipes for fun, but I didn't actually eat any of them. It wasn't until I had been doing it for a couple of months that it got to the point where I felt it was a bit harsh that I wasn't allowing myself to eat anything I was making," said Nicola.

She slowly began to recover from her disorder and has now released a book of her recipes called “My Super Sweet Recovery Cookbook.”

The book has easy to make, non-threatening and visually appealing recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snacks. The book does not promote dieting or weight loss.

Nicola decided not to include the calorie content of each of the meals because she does not want to encourage calorie counting and similar behavior.

“Making the cookbook really pushed me towards recovery. I just want the book to be able to be there for people with eating disorders, so they know they aren't alone It was written by a young person like them, who has been through what they are going through," she added.
