Amount of Food You Eat is Regulated by Liver
A new study to be published in the journal Diabetes has revealed that liver can regulate the amount of food one eats by communicating directly with the brain.
The study was conducted by researchers from the University of Melbourne and Austin Health who found that the overexpression of an enzyme, FBPase, in test mice led to reduced consumption of food and 50 percent less fat compared to mice without the enzyme.

Lead researcher Dr Barbara Fam said that since FBPase is associated with the production of glucose in the body, they believed the overexpression of the enzyme could lead to increased risk of diabetes rather than influencing the control of appetite.

“We believe that this enzyme is really important in stopping the body from gaining any more weight. Potentially, you could actually be a lot fatter if you don't have this enzyme being active”, Dr Fam said.
