American Red Cross Organizes Holiday Blood Donation Drive
Winter season brings in common infections like cold and flu, allergies, etc. which may hinder in donating blood schedules. But the need for blood donation rises during this season due to the decreased traffic in regular blood donation.
To encourage people to donate blood during this holiday season, the American Red Cross is launching a “Holiday Blood Drive” on December 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. It launches the drive along with Art Van Furniture and FOX TV and it is their sixth annual community blood drive.

"Donating blood is such a simple process, and a single, selfless donation can save multiple lives,” said Gary Van Elslander, president of Art Van Furniture.

The donated blood will help save the lives of accident victims, surgery, and cancer patients. Red Cross is encouraging people with all forms of blood groups to donate and even blood platelets can be donated at the camp. Those who are age 16 and older, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in good health can donate their blood.
