Will an app keep check on a car's engine, fuel economy, driving habits and parking location? It could soon become possible with help of a newly developed app.

The new app and tiny device called Automatic Link, which will hit the US market in May for about 70 dollars, will analyse the car's problems and feed the information to their smartphone, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Young People Depend on Smartphones for Almost Everything
A study has said that young people depend on Internet devices such as smartphones to 'drive every facet of their lives'.

The tiny device plugs into the car's onboard diagnostics (OBD) port and sends the information to the iPhone via Bluetooth.

It also analyses fuel use and the car owner's driving style - and will give a weekly score based on their efficiency and safety, with a few hints about how to improve.

Using GPS, it can detect fuel prices at nearby service stations and can remember where the owner has parked the car and with a built-in accelerometer, the app can also sense if the owner had an accident, alert emergency services - and your next-of-kin-and lead them to your location.
