Air Pollution from Cars and Trucks Damages Brain
Air pollution from cars and trucks is known to cause heart disease, cancer and respiratory problems. A recent study has revealed that exposure to freeway pollution can also cause brain damage.
A study on mice showed that when they are exposed to pollution particles approximately the size of one-thousandth the width of a human hair, causes brain damage. Further, there were also indications of memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease.

In a statement, senior author Caleb Finch, an expert on the effects of inflammation, said, “You can’t see them, but they are inhaled and have an effect on brain neurons that raises the possibility of long-term brain health consequences of freeway air.”
