AIG announced the formation of AIG Benefit Solutions, wherein Chartis U.S. Accident and Health and American General Life Companies have merged into one organization. AIG Benefit Solutions will market an array of insurance and benefits products for employees, employers and affinity groups. AIG Inc. feels that AIG Benefit Solutions is in a unique position to offer a comprehensive portfolio of close to two dozen insurance products and programs. These plans and programs will be available on employer-funded, voluntary and employee-paid platforms as well as a myriad of underwriting, enrollment and plan administration services.
The products and services offered by AIG Benefit Solutions will be divided into 2 segments namely U.S. Employee Benefits and U.S. Affinity Benefits. U.S. Employee Benefits will offer group and individual employee benefits and U.S. Affinity Benefits will offer products to affinity groups.
Programs for life, hospital indemnity, vision, dental, limited healthcare, group and personal disability, critical illness and cancer insurance are included in the unified organization’s combined portfolio. Employee Assistance Program will also be offered by them.
Mr. Curtis W. Olsen, who leads AIG Benefit Solutions, said that they would not only create a new and stronger benefits division through this joint venture, but they were positioned to become a major player in the benefits market. Their vision was to create an organization that is built for the group benefits marketplace of today and the future, with an emphasis on innovation, efficiency and a customer-centric focus.
