Four more children have died of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, taking the toll to five so far, an official said.
Muzaffarpur civil surgeon Gyan Bhusan said two children died on Wednesday while three died till Tuesday evening.

The level of preparedness of Uttar Pradesh for the annual epidemic of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and Japanese Encephalitis (JE) was discussed by J P Nadda and Akhilesh Yadav on Friday.

According to him, more than 10 children have been admitted to a hospital with AES symptoms.
A severe case of encephalitis, AES is characterized by inflammation of the brain. Mosquitoes transmit the infection causing high fever.
