A new study published in the Journal of Endocrinology reveals that acupuncture can be used to regulate high levels of hormones caused due to stress.
Researchers at Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) conducted the study on four groups of rats over a period of 10 days. The first group was stressed and received acupuncture at a spot known as 'Zusanli'.
The second group was stressed and received a sham acupuncture treatment near the tail, the third group was stressed but did not receive any acupuncture while the control group was not stressed or received acupuncture. The researchers found that that the group that received the real acupuncture treatment displayed clinical benefits of hormone related stress reduction.
