A Virtual Fitness Coaching Platform Launches Health Care Project for Rural India
GOQii -- a virtual fitness coaching platform -- launched 'GOQii Sanjeevani' project in two villages of Maharashtra, aiming to expand its preventive health and wellness ecosystem into public healthcare space.
Sanjeevani was launched as a pilot project in the villages of Vaghadi and Charoti in Palghar district of Maharashtra, with a combined population of over 2,000, to address issues such as anaemia, malnutrition, women's health and diseases predominant in rural India.

"Just as the telecom revolution, we are leapfrogging in the area of cutting edge health care. We will begin a health revolution by leveraging technology to the fullest and bring preventive healthcare to the masses at their doorstep," Vishal Gondal, CEO and Founder, GOQii -- a California-based company, said in a statement.

As part of the project, 500 people from Vaghadi and Charoti villages with access to smartphones were shortlisted and were provided a GOQii Fitness Tracker -- monitored by a GOQii app -- that will help them track their daily step count and have their first face to face consultation with the health coach.

GOQii is also working with various partners in diagnostics and hospital care who will help in conducting critical tests like blood pressure, ECG, blood sugar, at the consumers' doorstep and deliver the reports in a digital format.

The company also launched the GOQii app in the local language Marathi and designed the chat feature to ease the communication between the users and their respective coaches. GOQii doctors will also be on board to provide timely healthcare consultation, the statement said.

"We are hopeful that through this pilot project, we will be able to improve the quality of life at the grassroots level in the country," Gondal said.
