Experts have revealed the benefits of having plants in and around home. At the Chelsea Flower Show, head of science at the Royal Horticultural Society Dr Roger Williams, explained the manner in which plants perform temperature regulation.
In his opinion, climbing plants of certain types act as good insulators outside a building.
Air temperature drops due to transpiration as plants photosynthesize.
"The combined effect of cooling and insulating can really quite significantly reduce the energy associated with cooling and heating buildings. Just the presence of plants will help," Dr.Roger said.
