WWF Inspired Him to Kill

by Medindia Content Team on Dec 12 2007 11:43 AM

A teenager in Ahmedabad, capital of the western Indian state of Gujarat, abducted and killed his friend in search of ransom.

He choked his victim Lokesh Dadwani to death by shoving his elbow into his throat — in true WWF style. 'He is an avid fan of the wrestling show on TV,' said police. The name of the teenage murderer has not been revealed.

Meticulous planning and cold-blooded execution marked the abduction, it was said. 'The accused approached Lokesh saying he was a budding gangster running an abduction racket and talked him into joining his gang,' said a police official.

The two thereafter made their way to a warehouse owned by Lokesh’s father.
It then dawned on Lokesh that his friend actually planned to hold him hostage and raise money from his family.

But the realization came too late. The co-conspirator-turned-villain quickly overpowered Lokesh and killed him WWF style. It is not clear what happened thereafter, for Lokesh’s family did not receive any ransom demand from anyone.

If anything, once the body was discovered, five days later, the wannabe gangster went about helping Lokesh’s father lodge a complaint with the police. At some stage, when the keys of the warehouse were accidentally recovered from him, the boy made a clean breast of it.

'He has told us that he wanted to get Rs 5 lakh as ransom from the victim’s father Kishanchand Dadwani and he also claimed that Lokesh himself was part of the plot. If such indeed was the case, why and when things went awry, we’ve to find out…,' said an inspector of police conducting the investigations.
