St. Jude’s Neuromodulation Works Well Against Migraines

Genesis neuromodulator from St. Jude Medical is found to be effective in relieving chronic migraines, a recent study has shown.

During the study, 157 patients habituated to suffering severe migraine for atleast 20 days in a month were implanted with this device. A control group with migraine patients was given a placebo.

About Migraine
Migraine is a chronic disorder characterized by headache, nausea, vomiting or sensitivity to light and sound.

The results revealed that close to 66 percent of participants in the active group that received the implants reported marked reduction in the headaches. Among the control group, only 17% reported relief from headaches.

Nearly 51% of participants in the active group reported high levels of satisfaction with the results of the neuromodulator as against 19% of the group that received the placebo.
