Shock Teens to Stop Them from Boozing

by Rajshri on Dec 17 2009 9:49 PM

A British surgeon has claimed that exposing children to ill effects of drinking early in their childhood can prevent a number of youths turning to drinking as they grow older.

According to Professor Iain Hutchison most of the young people of this generation are very worried regarding their looks and showing pictures of drunks who have had their faces split up could be a great way in preventing them from taking to underage drinking.

“The kids are very worried about facial appearance. They're not worried about vomiting, that's a temporary thing. If they have a scar for life they are absolutely concerned about it”, Hutchison said.

The professor was one of the 40 facial surgeons who worked closely with the charity organization, Saving Faces, in developing the slideshow.

While the Chief Medical Officer in Britain has urged parents to prevent their children from drinking before the age of 15, the reality is that more than 50 percent of the youth would have taken to alcohol by that age.
