Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's teenage daughter Bristol has given birth to a son.
This comes months after the announcement of 18-year-old's pregnancy became one of the first dark clouds to swirl over Palin's 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidacy.
Bristol gave birth to Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston on Sunday. The baby 7 pounds, 4 ounces.
According to Fox News, Colleen Jones, the sister of Bristol's grandmother, revealed during an interview with People magazine that "the baby is fine and Bristol is doing well."
The governor's office has decided not to release any information about the baby's birth because they think that it is a private family matter.
The baby's father is a former hockey player at Alaska's Wasilla High School named Levi Johnston.
