Arnold Schwarzenegger has pledged to ‘hunt down’ those involved in starting the devastating fires in California.

The Governor of California said that at least two of the fires were started intentionally, and two more have ‘suspicious origins,’ and even issued a warning for the arsonists.

"I want everyone to understand that we will hunt down the people that are responsible for that and we will arrest them and we will prosecute them to the full extent of the law," The Sun quoted Schwarzenegger, as saying.

"Believe me, we will not fail," he added.

Schwarzenegger visited a command post near Orange County’s Santiago Canyon fire on Oct 28 to announce assistance for victims of the fires.

He addressed controversy over the delay in getting military aircraft to help battle the fires.

“There are things that we could improve on and I think this is what we are going to do because a disaster like this ... in the end is a good vehicle, a motivator for everyone to come together,” he said.

Seven deaths including those of four suspected illegal immigrants, whose burnt bodies were found near the US-Mexico border on Thursday, have been directly attributed to the fires.

About 4,400 people remained in 28 shelter sites in Southern California, while others took refuge in makeshift encampments.
