 Plight of Britain’s Elderly
A recent report by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC)  in Britain has highlighted the pathetic plight of Britain's elderly cared for in their homes and subject to varying degrees of neglect and abuse.
During the investigation, the team sought the opinion of more than 1000 people including family members and friends.

The investigation found instances of abuse both physical and financial.

"The cumulative impact on older people can be profoundly depressing and stressful: tears, frustration, expressions of a desire to die and feelings of being stripped of self-worth and dignity - much of which was avoidable," the findings from EHRC has stated.

The commission has proposed that the legal protection for senior citizens be enhanced  after it found that the Human Rights Act may not include all home care situations.
