Pizza restaurant chain 'PizzaExpress' has been named the most vegan-friendly food chain by PETA.
The restaurant got the award by the animal rights group for its cheese-free pizzas, the Scotsman reports.PizzaExpress is one of the 20 organisations recognised by PETA for 'animal-friendly progress'.
The pizza chain was founded in 1965 by Peter Boizot and the first restaurant was opened in Wardour Street in London with a pizza oven and chef imported from Italy.
Shoe company Converse was given the 'best cruelty-free trainers' award while Smile Bank was given bank of the year award.
