Phthalates in Consumer Products Hamper Child Development
Children’s products containing certain types of phthalates,(class of chemicals), is highly dangerous as it can hamper the working of the endocrine system.
These chemicals are present in many other products such as cars, shampoos, flooring, lotions and cosmetics.

Exposure of the expectant mother to phthalates can impact the development of the child negatively.

During the study, researchers measured phthalate levels in the mothers’ urine and made a comparison with their children’s ability in several developmental tests.

Researchers found that when phthalate levels in the urine samples of mothers rose, the motor development of the children decreased markedly.

Researchers explained that certain types of phthalates can affect brain development even in the fetal stage. Further, they can also cause behavioral disorders.

Researchers caution parents about the purchase of products that use Phthalates.
