Night Workers Unsafe in Britain

by Rajashri on May 30 2009 8:56 PM

A study by the Stirling University has found that night workers in the country are missing out on good facilities as health and safety inspectors only work in the day.

The Health and Safety Executive watchdogs miss out on at least 3.5 million late shift workers. "There are no routine graveyard shift health and safety inspections by the HSE's 1300 workplace inspectors," said Professor Andrew Watterson, adding that night shift workers experience more illnesses than day shift ones.
