Mother Addicted to Video Games Kills Child
Police from the South Korean city of Cheonan said that they have arrested a 27-year old mother for allegedly strangling her three-year old son for disturbing her post computer game nap.
The mother, whose name was given as Kim, constantly played more than 10 hours of online computer games each day ranging from card games to raising virtual pets. Kim was taking a nap after a four hour session in front of the computer but was woken after her son urinated on the floor and started to cry.

Police said that she beat him before strangling him and left the body in the house for three days before it was discovered by her in-laws who then reported it to the police.

This is not the first instance of tragedy occurring due to stress from computer games. Last month a 15 year old boy killed his mother after she objected his constant playing of computer games before committing suicide while a couple were sentenced to jail in May after their daughter died due to malnutrition and neglect as the parents were more interested in raising a virtual child.
