The Mizoram state health department has said that some 199 people succumbed to malaria in the state in 2009.
This figure has jumped up from 91 deaths in 2008. The report also said that 9,399 blood samples were found to be positive out of the 1,71,793 people, who had their blood samples tested during last year.
