Ivory Wave Legal Highs on the Rise
Health experts have warned over the rising popularity of the use of “legal highs” after more than 20 people were admitted to hospitals after taking a party drug.
More than 20 people living in the Lothian area were taken to the hospital after complaining of hallucinations, anxiety and vomiting. Almost all of the patients had taken a single type of party drug known as Ivory Wave, which is sold as a concentrated form of bath salts.

Apart from Ivory Wave, some of the most popular party drugs available on the market include Legal E, Party Pills and Silver Bullet. The makers of Ivory Wave, known to be the strongest party drug available, have marketed the drug as not being for the faint hearted.

“The chemicals used in legal highs change all the time so people can never be certain what they are actually taking - and what the effects might be. Just because a substance is legal or claimed to be legal, it doesn't mean it is safe”, NHS Lothian’s Jim Sherval said.
