Herbal Garden Gets a Rs 5 Crore Grant

The Himachal Pradesh Government is to set-up a Centre of Excellence in herbal medicines in Dravyagun. The Center has given the nod for this project and has also allotted Rs 5 crore for the same.

“Under this scheme an herbal garden, museum and herbarium would be set up besides educating farmers in herbal farming. The Centre will also impart education in Dravyagun,” said state Health Minister Rajeev Bindal.

The Minister also added that this was a welcome development, which has come fast on the heels of the recent Memorandum of Understanding  (MoU) with Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar.The MOU aims to help in selling herbal products produced by farmers at higher prices.
