Family Members Relieved After Health Secretary Permits  Release of HIV Undertrial
The Health Secretary of Goa has allowed the release of HIV positive undertrial’s body after discussions with family members and NGOs working with HIV positive persons in the state.
The undertrial was arrested under Sections 377 (unnatural sex) with a minor boy and 506 (2) (threatening), of the IPC and Section 8 of the Children's Act. He was lodged at the Sada sub-jail. He had breathed his last at The Goa Medical college and Hospital Bambolim on January 15th during the course of treatment.

The letter from the health secretary has been handed over to the North Goa collector who is also the inspector general of prisons.

"The collector has promised to release the body by tomorrow morning. I hope to get the body of my brother and give him a dignified funeral," his sister said.
