Brit singer Lily Allen has urged people to be more eco-friendly and contradicted herself by buying a new 'gas guzzling' vehicle.
Allen, 24, who believes it is essential for people to spend the next decade thinking of the impact their actions will have on the planet, revealed that she has just bought herself a "gas guzzling" car.
"We all need to take a bit more responsibility for our carbon footprint. I'm trying but it's hard," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
"I've just bought a new Land Rover. It's a gas guzzler, but I spend a lot of time in the countryside near my dad, so I feel I need it," she said
The 'LDN' singer also said that she only bought it so she could stay away from photographers and believes being able to live anonymously would be good for the planet.
"I wanted something big and sturdy which elevated me off the ground a bit. I wanted to feel bigger than the paparazzi," she told Q magazine.
"So the next decade will be better if they f**king leave me alone and I can do the right thing and get on a bike," she added.
