 Cataract Patients Lose Vision After Surgery at Government Health Camp in Chhattisgarh
A government health camp in Chhattisgarh has run into trouble after 12 of the 395 cataract patients lost their eye sight after undergoing surgery at the camp.
The Directorate of Health Services has ordered an inquiry into the incident while the Durg district collector, Reena Kangale admitted that negligence did occur at the health camp. The patients underwent minor cataract surgeries at the Macchera hospital in Raipur with all the 12 patients who lost their eye sight coming from Balod area of Durg.

Stating that strict action will be taken against those who were found guilty, the director of health services, Kamal Preet Singh said, “It's a serious issue, I will deal with it strongly. Those who performed operations at the camp will be grilled and tough action will be taken against the guilty.”
