Bingeing on Lettuce Gives a Clue About Lurking Breast Cancer
59-year-old Elsie Campbell experienced an odd craving, she just wanted to eat lettuce. This craving turned into an obsession and she couldn’t get enough of it.
Her craving increased manifold and soon she was consuming four lettuces a day. Observing this abnormal eating pattern, her husband, a research scientist, thought it could be indicative of some deficiency in the body.

To understand what could have triggered this sudden craving, he found that lettuce contains a nutrient which is deficient in victims of breast cancer.

At his insistence, Elsie consulted a specialist and was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since she was diagnosed early, the lump was removed. She is now clear of cancer after few months of treatment.
