Berry Skipped Bath for a Month to Play Drug Addict

Actress Halle Berry has confessed that she gave up bathing for a month to play the role of a drug addict convincingly in the movie Jungle Fever.

The 41-year-old actress, who starred alongside Wesley Snipes and Samuel L. Jackson in Spike Lee's 1991 flick, revealed that in order to prepare for the role and to give her best shot she decided to stay unwashed for a month.

"That was my first acting job, so that was the only way I knew how to do it, was to try and be it,” Contactmusic quoted Berry, as saying.

"And I went to a real crack den with an undercover police officer. When they put the bullet-proof vest on is when I should have said, 'OK, no I'm not going to do this.'

"But I had no idea what this world of crack cocaine was, what this life was, so I had to go in and see it because I don't think at that time it was anything you could read about.

"So yeah, I didn't bathe for really about a month,” she added.
