A pleasant surprise awaits passengers, especially beer lovers, for an airline is considering of offering barrels of beer on the drinks cart.

The one-of-its-kind plan is being deemed by UK airlines Thomsonfly and First Choice Airlines for their new Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes.

The two carriers, which have recently merged their businesses, will be receiving the first of 23 Dreamliners in 2009.

Other ideas, which are still ideas in the pipeline by the airlines, are onboard children’s play areas, language lessons and downloadable newspapers, reports The Sun.

Internet access and even ice cream makers are also being discussed.

Passengers might also be able to use their seatback entertainment systems to order drinks or meals or to leave messages for the cabin crew such as wake me up for meals’ or ‘let me sleep’.

The two airlines are considering providing wider seats and wider aisles which will be big enough for passengers to pass even when the meal and drink trolleys are coming through.

There could also be larger toilets and larger windows to improve the view of passengers without window seats.

Part of the Dreamliner’s innovations include - ability to change the way the aircraft is pressurised so that passengers become less dehydrated during flights.
