Asthma Linked With Eczema In Children

by Dr. Sunil Shroff on Mar 10 2008 12:28 PM

University of Melbourne came out with a study finding that, a particular strain of eczema called as “ allergic eczema’ is likely to cause asthma in children three times more than children without it.

Reasrcher Adrian Lowe urged the children with eczema to go for an allergic skin test to test whether they have the strain.

"For those infants that do unfortunately have allergic eczema, it will help identify this so that when they do start to develop symptoms of wheezing and night time cough, that they're going to be properly and quickly diagnosed," he said.
