Arterial Switch Surgery on Pakistani Kids in Bangalore
Two Pakistani kids who underwent an Arterial Switch surgery at Bangalore’s Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Science and Research are well on their way to recovery and are looking forward to going back to their country.
Thirteen year old Qunoot Baig from Hyderabad and Haseeb, 12, from Digri were suffering from congenital heart disease which is characterized by the two major arteries of the heart, aorta and pulmonary, growing in the wrong places.

They travelled to New Delhi through the Lahore-Delhi bus before coming to Bangalore for the surgery. Sheikh Ashikhal, who accompanied the boys, was relieved that the operation went on without any hitch.

“It's our wish that our countries live in peace. When we came to India, we were unsure how we would be received. But everyone has been so helpful”, he said.
