Apollo Mulls Entry into Health Education Sector

The Apollo Hospitals Group is planning to offer paramedical, medical and nurses training courses at its  the Apollo Aragonda Health Knowledge City in Andhra Pradesh. Towards this measure, the group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Indira Gandhi National Open University.

Founder chairman of the Apollo Hospitals Group, Dr Prathap C Reddy told reporters that some 45 courses would be provided under this scheme. The new facility would be built on 100 acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 1,000 crore over the next five years.

“It will also house a 150-bed hospital. We will be applying for an SEZ status for the City within a year. We will be taking possession of the land soon. It will be operational within 24 months," Dr Reddy added.

Apollo Hospitals at Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad will also provide these courses.
