Allergies More Common Than Thought

A new research has shown that almost 50% of the people suffer from some form of allergy with hayfever being the most common complaint among them.

Market analyst Mintel conducted a poll of over 1,000 people and found that 44% of people have an allergy, with 48% of those suffering from more than one. The poll also showed that people under 35 years of age were more likely to suffer from an allergy than those in the 55 to 64 age group.

The most common allergies were that of pollen, dust mites, pets, mould and rubber. The study said that allergies affected 51% of women compared to 37% of men.

Furthermore, most people made some adjustments in their lives to cope with allergies.
