A Centre For Children With AIDS

A Centre of Excellence on pediatric HIV/AIDS at the Niloufer Children’s Hospital in Andhra Pradesh was inaugurated by the Health Minister D.L. Ravindra Reddy.

The only one for treating children with AIDS in the state and one of seven such facilities in the whole country, it has advanced medical equipment and is already treating 1,529 patients, which includes 871 children.

The National Aids Control Organization (NACO), Andhra Pradesh State Aids Control Society (APSACS) and Clinton Foundation have been commended for their efforts in setting up the centre.
