7,200 Suspected, 730 Confirmed Dengue Cases in Gujarat: Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation
The Gujarat government admitted that out of 7,200 suspected cases, 730 were confirmed as dengue across the state.
In Ahmedabad, the civic administration confirmed that out of 327 suspected cases this week, 200 were affected with dengue. No death has been so far reported in the state over dengue in the current year.

Civil Hospital Superintendent M M Prabhakar and in-charge Medical Officer Dr Bhavin Solanki said that “On its part, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed 10 construction sites in the city over mosquito breeding. The sealing drive will continue for a few days”.

AMC has registered around 120 schools in its website to educate them about the symptoms and risks involved in dengue fever. The AMC will also inform schools about protective measures.

“Mostly in the western part of the city. We have mapped these areas and will begin our anti-vector activities," said a senior AMC health official.

Dr B S Jesalpura, joint director of National Vector Borne Disease Control Program (NVBDCP) said, “There is no specific treatment for dengue in the initial stage of about five days but once the warning signs like bleeding, fever, vomiting, haemorrhagic fever, high blood pressure, persistent headache, muscular and joints pain start showing up, one would have to be hospitalized at the earliest.”
