66-Year-Old Doctor Succumbs to H1N1 Virus At a Private Hospital in Rajasthan

R.P. Modi, a native of Bikaner died in the ICU of the private hospital after contracting with swine flu. The death toll has increased to 4 this month in Rajasthan. Nine persons have tested positive for H1N1 in various hospitals of the state who are currently under treatment.//

A task force meeting headed by Joint Secretary of Medical Education Dr S P Singh was held on seasonal diseases including swine flu, malaria and dengue.

64-Year Old From Delhi Reports First Case Of Swine Flu For This Season In Noida
Between January 6 and March 31, district health department sent 453 samples of suspected swine flu patients to the National Center for Disease Control in Delhi.

”All government hospitals in the state were directed to keep strict vigilance on the seasonal diseases specially and provide treatment and diagnosis to patients as per the previous norms of the state government,” said the official.

Three persons, including two women died of swine flu, while seven others were found to be H1N1 positive in a fresh spell of the virus in parts of Rajasthan.

”A 30-year-old man identified as Vikram succumbed to H1N1 in Baran district on August 31 while Parwati Bunkar (58) died in Jaipur on September 4, Manju (45) died in Bundi district on September 7,” said a senior officer of state medical and health directorate.

Ahmedabad Witnesses a Rise In The Number Of Dengue And Swine Flu Cases
A total of 2,171 H1N1 cases, 129 deaths and 643 dengue cases have been reported since January this year. Health officials have asked AMC to intensify preventive measures.

”The district hospitals have been alerted to take all precautions and provide ICU and testing facilities to H1N1 positive patients,” the official added.

Since January 1 this year, altogether 439 people have died of swine flu so far in the state, which included 88 deaths in Jaipur, 48 in Ajmer, 33 in Jodhpur, 31 in Nagaur, 23 in Barmer, 22 in Kota, 15 in Udaipur, 14 in Chittorgarh, 13 each in Sikar, Bhilwara and Tonk, 12 in Pali, 11 in Jhunjhunu, 10 in Churu and remaining in other parts of Rajasthan.

Swine Flu Affects 3 More In Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh
The three persons -- two women and a man from Odisha -- tested positive for H1N1 influenza and are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Visakhapatnam.
