3D Technology to Help in Preparing Cast for Dental Implants
Iranian engineers have managed to develop a 3D printing technology that could drastically cut down the time required for dentists to prepare a cast for dental implants.
Though the technology still some years away from being viable, and cheaper, the engineers are confident that it will revolutionize prosthetic dentistry in the near future. According to the report published in the International Journal of Rapid Manufacturing, the technology makes use of a 3D image to control a laser that cures powdered or liquid polymer into highly complex shapes.

Currently dentists do use machines to make mock teeth, but these machines are not accurate and consume a lot of time.

Therefore the dental community is bound to welcome this new technology with open arms for this will not only save time, but will also help patients by creating more accurate tooth forms.
