29 Infected With Tuberculosis in China

At a school in China, 26 students and 3 teachers have been infected with tuberculosis, say officials. A Grade 10 student from the Jingxian No.2 Middle School in Anhui province was confirmed to be infected with tuberculosis May 14, Xinhua reported.

Later, when a medical checkup of 374 people in close contact with the first patient was conducted, 29 were found to be infected, the provincial health department said.

Four people have been admitted to hospital, and anti-tuberculosis medicines have been distributed to all students and teachers of the school, the report said.
