24*7 Lifestyles Give Brits Only 45 Minutes of 'Family Time'

Thanks to their 24*7 lifestyles, Brits have very little time on their hands to spend with their spouses and children.

A new survey has revealed that an average working parent enjoys just 45 minutes of "family time" on a weekday.

It also showed that one in three children, aged between five and 16, goes to bed without seeing mum or dad at least twice a week.

Only 20 pct of the families have their breakfast, lunch or dinner together once or twice a week.

For 28 per cent of families across the UK, Sunday lunch is the only meal of the week when they actually sit down and eat together.

The poll of 2,000 adults conducted by food firm Aunt Bessie's also revealed that 55 per cent of parents admitted that TV, computers and gadgets were often the kids' only source of entertainment.

"We were shocked to find that British families spend so little quality time together," the Daily Express quoted Paul Heritage, MD of Aunt Bessie's as saying.
