Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi, who visited the camp, said, "This is yet another effort by us to contribute meaningfully when Delhi is in the midst of the worst dengue outbreak in the last two decades. Through this program, we wish to reiterate our motto - With You, For You Always. We have also prepared a list of at least 300 police personnel who will provide their blood, on the basis of requirement, in any part of Delhi.”
Delhi has so far reported over 7,606 cases of dengue, which is more than twice the number of cases registered in 2010 -- 3,555. The toll, till date, has reached 25 this year, the highest-ever since 1996.
