£175,000 Payout for Patient Who was Wrongly Told He Had 12 Months to Live
A patient who was wrongly diagnosed with leukemia and told he had just 12 months to live has received a £175,000 payout.
46-year-old Anthony Moore thought he had MRSA and was given Linezoid after he was admitted to the hospital. Some days later he was re-admitted for severe anemia and was told he had less than a year to live as he had leukemia.
However later on it emerged that Moore had peripheral neuropathy, which was caused by a prolonged intake of Linezoid.

“The claimant was incorrectly advised he was suffering from leukemia and would die within a year but it was subsequently discovered he was actually suffering from peripheral neuropathy,” Moore’s solicitor Withy King told The Daily Mail.

Moore continues to have nerve issues and it is feared that he may need an above-knee amputation.
