'Public Health Responsibility Deal' has been signed between the Government and 150
firms to encourage responsible drinking, eating and a healthy lifestyle.
Following the deal Heineken has decided to lower the alcohol content of one of its major brands, Strongbow from 5.3 to 4.3%, while Asda will ban promotional drink offers at store entrances. Other initiatives include- new warnings on the labels of 80% drinks and a ban on drink advertisement within 100yards from a school.
While fast food joints likeMcDonald's, Subway, PepsiCo and Pizza Hut have decided to reduce the sugar and salt content in their products and improve labeling.
