12-Year-Old Kid With Brain Tumor Distributes Legos to Other Sick Children
Diagnosed with glioblastoma, a deadly brain tumor with no cure, 12-year-old Joseph Dees has been living with the disease for 4 years.
He has been in and out of two states for his treatment, has undergone many surgeries, endured radiation and chemotherapy. He spent most of his time in the hospital and Legos were among his only pleasurable pastimes.

Joseph wanted to share the joy with other kids in the hospital. He shared the idea with his family and began buying and distributing boxes of Legos at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Dees family realized Joseph's mission could become something bigger and came up with ‘Building Hopes’; a group that hopes to spur Lego drives across America.

He wanted to make it an inspirational foundation, to hold Lego drives at their local schools and deliver it to their local children's hospitals. After the Legos from his recent drive are distributed, some 300 children will have received toys through his work.
