Storyline : Funny Story is about Craig (Keir Gilchrist), a teenager, who has issues at school. He is constantly pressurized by his father to do well and to make things worse his best friend Aaron is good at everything, which makes Craig feel inferior. Craig contemplates suicide by jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge- but in good time, he realizes that he needs medical help and visits Dr. Mahmoud (Aasif Mandvi). The doctor registers Craig for a week at the hospital's psychiatric ward. Initially skeptic about his stay at the ward, Craig's interactions with other patients especially, Bobby, who is also suicidal and Noelle, whom he begins to like, change his outlook to life. He sees that his problems might not be the biggest in the world. Craig garners courage to pursue his ambition of being an artist and his father gives him his approval. In the end, once out of the psychiatric ward, Craig is seen with Noelle bidding goodbye to all his woes.
