Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is characterized by chronic or recurrent abdominal pain or discomfort and a fluctuating disturbance in defecation. Diarrhea or constipation may predominate, and in some patients they may alternate.

Cramps in abdomen
Urgency of bowel movements, but incomplete evacuation
Diarrhea or constipation - sometimes alternating attacks of diarrhea and constipation
General symptoms of fatigue, headache and backache
