What is Amennorrhea-galactorrhea Syndrome ?  

Endocrinological disorder causing lactation and amenorrhea, which is unphysiologic in nature. Galactorrhea refers to the secretion of milk from breasts in men and in women who are not breastfeeding baby.


Cause(s) :  
  • Pregnancy
  • Breast-feeding
  • Pituitary Tumors
  • Sexual Intercourse
  • Tumors or growths in ovaries or other reproductive organs in women
  • Testicular tumors or growth in other sexual organs in men
Symptoms :  
  • High blood prolactin level
  • Abnormal milk production in the breast
  • Menstrual Problems - Irregular cycles or amenorrhea
  • Reduction in libido
  • Reduced Fertility
  • Headaches and visual disturbances
  • Puberty
