What is Acne?
Acne is a skin condition in which red, inflamed pimples and non-inflamed pimples appear on the skin. Hormones cause the oil glands of the skin to enlarge and produce clogging of the gland and the hair follicle to which it is attached. These pimples usually appear on the face, but are sometimes also found on the chest and neck. In most cases, acne goes away without leaving any scars.

- Blockage of the external pores in the skin

Home Remedies for Acne
Tip 1:
Fresh lime juice may be dabbed on pimples and blackheads.

Tip 2:
Mix 1 tsp fresh coriander juice with a pinch of turmeric powder. Apply on pimples and blackheads. Keep overnight and wash off gently the next morning.

Tip 3:
Make a paste of fresh, young curry leaves apply and keep on overnight wash with warm water in the morning. Helps wrinkles to fade away gradually.
Tip 4:
Make a paste of nutmeg (Jaiphal) with raw milk. Apply on pimples and blackheads leave on for 20 minutes or overnight. Continue for 10-12 days, till face is clear.

Tip 5:
For dry skin rub a piece of sandalwood on a smooth stone with a few drops of raw milk. Apply the paste procured on affected areas. Keep on for 1 hour. Gently wash.
Tip 6:
For oily skin make a paste of sandalwood and rosewater apply on affected areas, keep for 1 hour and wash off gently.

Tip 7:
Fresh fenugreek leaves made into a paste and applied overnight clears pimples.
Spotted skin, scars and acne marks make you feel embarrassed and hurt self-esteem as well. Many of us opt for cosmetics and other products to get rid of acne residues. There are many home remedies which have proven their effects on lightening these skin marks. Tomato and Lemon Juice: Take a fresh tomato and make its paste. Mix it well with one tablespoon of lemon juice. Apply the paste on face for around 20 minutes and rinse it off gently with water after 20 minutes. Pulp of Aloe Vera: Let the pulp from Aloe Vera dry for 5 minutes in sun. Add 6-8 drops of lemon juice to it and apply on the affected area and face for 15 minutes. Onions: Cut the onion into small pieces. Grind those pieces and separate the juice from the residue. Apply the juice for few minutes on the affected skin and rinse after 10 minutes. Cucumber and Milk: Make a paste out of cucumber, milk and a bit of lime extract. It will serve as a face mask. Apply thoroughly and wash it with warm water after 10 minutes. You must consider a visit to dermatologist in severity of the condition. But, these home remedies are proven effective in getting rid of acne marks, black spots, pimples and dark spots.
