Pregabalin (Lyrica): Drug Treats Neuropathic Pain, Fibromyalgia, Epilepsy and General Anxiety Disorder


Pregabalin is prescribed for treating neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), post-herpetic neuralgia or pain after shingles, fibromyalgia, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), nerve pain following a spinal cord injury. It is a habit-forming drug and it is advised to avoid taking frequent or large doses other than those prescribed. Avoid alcohol consumption as pregabalin may increase the risk of drowsiness.
