Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker drug relaxes the blood vessels and reduces the blood pressure. It is prescribed for treating high blood pressure, chronic heart failure, kidney diseases in diabetics or diabetic nephropathy, left ventricular hypertrophy or enlargement of the left side walls of the heart, and isolated systolic hypertension.
